Trains, shrines, elevators, and a city that never quite lets you stand still — the second cut from Borna Libertines’ Tokyo record gets its visual counterpart

Borna Libertines is sharing the official video for “This Is Tokyo,” the second track from his LP 120h to Tokyo, released July 1, 2026. Running at 140 BPM, “This Is Tokyo” was built around field recordings captured during Borna’s six months living in the city — train station announcements, pedestrian crossing signals, convenience store textures — and the video extends that same instinct into images.

The footage moves the way the city does: subway cars and platform crowds, the pull of an elevator between floors, a shrine gone quiet for a moment before the frame cuts back to neon. Small bars appear and disappear the way they do on a real Tokyo night — one door leads to another, and the crowd is never quite the same crowd twice. Woven through it is a visual nod to Ghost in the Shell, whose vision of Tokyo — glass, signal, motion, a city thinking out loud — sits close to what “This Is Tokyo” is chasing on the low end. Borna appears throughout, dancing alone inside a city that clearly doesn’t need him to keep moving.

“This Is Tokyo” is track two of eight on 120h to Tokyo, an LP sequenced deliberately from arrival to departure — the title itself borrowed from a friend’s countdown text in the final days of Borna’s stay. Where the opening title track carries the anticipation of arriving, “This Is Tokyo” is first contact: the moment the city stops being an idea and starts being noise, light, and motion all at once.

About the LP

120h to Tokyo is an eight-track, analog techno LP recorded on modular synthesizers, acid bass, and heavy kick at 138–140 BPM. Two tracks — “Dancing with Tokyo” and “Tokyo Shunshin Desu” — bring in jazz saxophone, drawn from the city’s jazz bar culture, sitting blocks from its techno clubs. The album is out now on Bandcamp, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music.
