Sitting comfortably in the 138–140 BPM pocket, the record moves through peak-time drivers and slower, more atmospheric cuts without ever losing its throughline: real field recordings from Tokyo’s streets woven straight into the mix, giving tracks like “Night over Tokyo” and “Tokyo right now Tokyo right here” a documentary edge most techno records don’t bother reaching for.
The standout moment comes with “Dancing with Tokyo” and “Tokyo shunshin desu,” where jazz saxophone cuts through the analog haze – an unexpected but welcome detour that separates this from the pack of straight-ahead peak-time records.
