Following graduation from the University of Zagreb with a degree in Landscape Design and Horticulture, Borna emigrated to New York City. In 2003, Borna enrolled at City College of New York and graduated in 2005 with a degree in Landscape Architecture. Over the past few years, Borna has split his time between NYC, Europe, Mexico City and Tokyo creating collage graffiti paintings using street posters collected around these cities. Borna's collages address personal, global, and social themes of the time. Borna's art involves reconstituting torn-up pieces of popular artifacts, including advertisements, to create mixed-media collages. His compositions integrate text, color blocks, commercial imagery, and graffiti to convey humor, eroticism, and sociopolitical critique. By layering and ripping posters, Borna captures the spirit of the times and the image of a society dominated by communication and media obsession, integrating the streetscape into his art.
